KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22: Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) won two gold, four silver and five bronze medals, and a special award from the Association of British Inventors and Innovators at The International Expo on Inventions and Innovations – Malaysia Technology Expo 2020.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazlina Shaari (Faculty of Design and Architecture) won a gold medal and a special award from the Association of British Inventor and Innovation for technology, which is Adaptive Wear for Disabled Elderly, the clothes specially designed for physically disabled persons and for people with difficulty in dressing. The clothes are easy to wear and have special compartments for cold pack and urine pack.
A gold medal was also won by Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Sapuan Salit (Faculty of Engineering) with the innovation of the Development of Thermally Stable Polycrystalline Photovoltaic Module Based Novel Biocomposite Materials.
MTE 2020 was held from February 20 to 22 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC). It was officiated by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.
UPM sent 11 entries for two categories, namely Invention and Innovation Awards and Public Service Innovation Awards, at MTE 2020, which was also participated by universities, research agencies, higher educational institutions, government agencies, companies and schools within and outside the country.
