16 and 23 March - Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP) in collaboration with FWF World Solutions had successfully organized two drone operation trainings for DJI Phantom 4 Pro v2.0 and DJI 300 Matrice RTK. The training was delivered by Dr. Zailani Khuzaimah and Mr. Mohd Faizal Taib. A total of 12 IKP staff including research officers, science officer and assistant science officers attended the training. These 2-days training covered the basic introduction to drone types and functions, basic drone flight, drone flight for mapping, and image processing and data analysis. Both drones belong to the Laboratory of Plantation System Technology and Mechanization (PSTM), IKP. By having these drones, in-depth research related to plant health monitoring, plantation mapping, soil profiling, treatment validation, forest-scale phenotyping and many more applications are possible to be explored.
