Laboratory of Mechanization,Automation dan Digitalization

 

This laboratory has been established to carry out research and development in mechanization and automation, digital technology and smart farming technology for plantation industry in Malaysia. Research in this field is very important to support the implementation of National Agrofood Policy and National Commodity Policy. Research and development program in the field of mechanization and plantation technology can reduce nation’s dependency on foreign labours and improve farm productivity as well as competitiveness of our plantation sector. An application of simple and affordable digital technologies seems to be able to attract younger generation to involve in plantation sector.

 

Diverse range of expertise of researchers in this laboratory are able to provide sustainable solutions for issues in plantation. Research activities in this laboratory is in line with the aim of UPM to be one of the research centre of excellence in plantation technology. To achieve the objective, this laboratory offers research programs at the master's and doctorate level to produce more professional manpower resources to modernize the country's agricultural sector.
